KNOWLEDGE TO GO

Hidden allergies

With a hidden allergy, the body demands food that is not good for it. While no direct negative reactions can be seen or felt during consumption itself, chronic ailments such as headaches, intestinal or skin problems slowly begin to occur. These are often only associated very late, if at all, with the root cause, namely harmful foods. Wheat, sugar and coffee are among the frontrunners of the foodstuffs that can provoke a masked allergy.

Recurring infection

The term “recurrent infection” describes an infection that recurs again and again and can become chronic during its course. The cause of the repeated occurrence can be found in a blockage of metabolic regulation. Since there is no independent balance (in the sense of counter-regulation) between the metabolic states anabolic (building) and catabolic (degrading), the body attempts to reduce the missing counter-regulation with the help of inflammation in order to compensate for the infection. As a result, the entire metabolic state must always be considered and treated in the treatment of recurrent infections.

Tobacco and cancer

So far, 90 ingredients in tobacco smoking have been attributed to the effect of “carcinogenic” or “possibly carcinogenic.” This danger is certainly documented in the components nickel (also in alloys and batteries), arsenic (also in herbicides, pesticides), N-nitrosamines (also in corrosion protection) and 1.3 butadia (also in car tires). However, the connection between tobacco and cancer was already known in the 18th century: In 1761, the British physician John Hill published his records on the relationship between nasal cancer and snuff. In 1795, Samuel Thomas von Sömmering followed in Germany with the discovery that there is a relationship between pipe smoking and lip carcinomas.
